I run Belton House Tai Chi Club where I teach Beijing Short and Yang long Forms, Tai Chi for the disabled and weapons (Short Staff, Sai and Fan) and Qigong. On Saturday 26th April we will be having a “Tai Chi in the Park” day at Belton House National Trust, Grantham starting at 1100hrs. The day is open to all to come and “have a go”, individual and group demonstrations, refreshments available and glorious locations to practice including lakes, ponds, running rivers, ornamental gardens and a fantastic back drop of the House itself.
Belton House is a National Trust property and as such an entry fee is applicable if not a member.
The Taijiquan & Qigong Federation for Europe (TCFE) announce that the 7th TCFE Competition will take place in Latvia over the weekend of October 3-5 2014. More details will be announced as soon as we have them…
Union Instructors Vicky Ahern & Tony Hardiman of The Chi Clinic sent us details of their 10th Anniversary of being part of 'World Tai Chi & Qigong Day' which will be held in Nonsuch Park, Cheam/Sutton/Epsom, Surrey (Greater London) on Saturday 26th April 2014 starting at 10 am.
'We see WTCQD as a great day out with our students, family & friends. It has become a focal point in our calendar as a day to work towards, to give group demonstrations & to connect with Tai Chi & Qigong friends from other local groups – to share experiences & 'play Tai Chi together'. Other instructors are welcome to share in the teaching & to come along with their students to demonstrate their speciality or simply join in the mass Warm Up, Healing Circle, Tai Chi 24 Forms & Health Qigong Demonstrations. Everyone is welcome whatever your style!'
Here’s our webpage with all the relevant details.

Union Instructor Mark Peters, sent us detail of Birmingham’s plans for World Tai Chi Day on the 26 April:
World tai Chi day to act as launch event for City wide ‘FREE Tai Chi in the Park Project’ in Birmingham. The project will span approximately 50 parks across Birmingham and with the support of Sports England could go Countrywide.
The Project was trialed in 2013 to include other activities as well as tai chi and came under the banner of ActiveParks. Here is a video discussing the project.
Please take a look at a previous world tai chi day in Birmingham
More details soon but for now the events page has some.
We would be interested in hearing from any other union members with plans for the World Tai Chi Day.
Instructor Ranjeet S Sokhi sent us details on a new Meet Up Group for Tai Chuan and Internal Arts. Although it aims to develop an active Tai Chi community in the Herts, Beds and Cambs regions, anyone is welcome to join.
The group will be open to all styles of Tai Chi Chuan and related internal arts including Qi Gong/Chi Kung, Xing Yi and Bagua and so everyone is welcome to join and participate. We are not trying to ‘sell’ Tai Chi or promote any particular club – the aim is to share this wonderful art with anyone who is interested, be they experienced teachers, students or someone who is just beginning. To join please go to http://www.meetup.com/TaiChiChuan-InternalArts/
If you need any more information on the group and its events please contact me on Ranjeet S Sokhi
