Qi Gong Ð Daoyin SeminarMark AtkinsonHertfordshire |
|
Lochinver House School Heath Road, Little Heath, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, EN6 1LW
Saturday 21st Main Program - Morning session 9.30 – 12.30 Daoyin Baojian Gong (Exercises for Health Preservation) This set of exercises is designed for general health and is based on the theory of the 14 meridians or channels. It is a system of dynamic exercise with the function of balancing and improving one’s general health. Practise of Daoyin Baojian Gong helps to regulate your breathing, to make the breathing more efficient, to regulate the working of your heart, and to calm your spirit and your approach to life. Much of the work of the set is internal, and will therefore benefit the organs of the body, but there is also a great deal of external movement involved, and the benefits to the muscles, tendons and ligaments can easily be felt. Qigong for General Health is a series of preventative and curative physical exercises for common diseases: hypertension, cardiopathy, sclerosis of the coronary arteries, bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, gastro-enteritis, ulcers, nephritis, diabetes, seminal loss, impotence, menstrual problems, insomnia, headaches, pains in the neck, shoulders, dorsals, and legs. Cost of session £40 members £50 non members Saturday 21st Main Program - Afternoon session 1.30 – 4.30 Hewei Jian Pi Gong (Exercises for the Digestive System)Stomach one Professor Zhang has introduced two sets of exercises with the objectives to, " Harmonize the Stomach and Reinforce the Spleen ". The first set being presented are a little more exacting on the physical level, however both sets serve the same purpose. These two forms are ' Daoyin ' and work on the meridians with the common aim to increase the capacity of the function of the Spleen and Stomach. Concentrating and bringing the attention to the zone of Dantian, stimulates the action and the circulation of the blood to the stomach and intestines. Aiding digestion and the assimilation of our diet, combining the notion of abdominal breathing as a massage for the stomach, spleen, liver and intestines and increasing the capacity of intestinal peristalsis. In Chinese medicine and culture there is strong conviction that the gnashing of teeth, too increase and swallow saliva, regular massage of the stomach will bring benefits to the Digestive system. These three elements are consistent with this program. Cost of session £40 members £50 non members Sunday 22nd Main Program – One session 10.00am – 4.00pm Daoyin Taiji 'Bang', Stick, or Ruler This is a unique opportunity to learn this relatively new set of exercises that are proving most popular with both teachers and students alike. Both sets use the wooden stick to push, tap, rub, or hit acupuncture points on the body, whilst simultaneously following the twisting, turning, stretching, flexing, and bending movements familiar in the other sets of exercises. Cost of session £70 members £85 non members |

Middle Frame TaijiMark CorcoranPeterborough |
|
On the 21st of Feb 2010 in Peterborough, we will be running a workshop to cover the fundamentals of Middle Frame Taiji Quan.
Yang Jian Hou Middle Frame as taught to and by Tian Zhao Lin and taught to me by his son Tian Ying Jia of Shanghai, China. Yang family Middle frame Taiji is the second level of 3, 1st is the large frame, the public one that we know so well in the west. The 3rd is small frame Taiji, very advanced, martial Taiji, very fast and being full of Fajing energy and known to very few people, even in China. Middle frame Taiji encourages the strengthening and moving of Qi, improves the Silk Reeling Jin (Chan Si Jing) and strengthens the legs. This makes it much more martial and brings the Chin Na (joint locking) aspect to the fore. Also taught at this level is the Yang Family 8 Brocades Qigong to develop strength and Fajing and the first level of Tui Shou (or pushing hands) the single push hands sets moving and static. For more information on Middle Frame Taiji go to Traditional Chinese Medicine A 3 hour workshop from 10am to 1 pm at way of the Spiritual Warrior. spiritual warrior peterborough, directions The Way of The Spiritual Warrior Peterborough Unit 1 Benedict Square Werrington Peterborough PE4 6GD |

The Dao - Martial Principles Of Tai Chi For Teaching Special GroupsBirmingham |
|
The Dao
LiBi Welthy, Sue Platt, Sue Hargreaves & Annamarie McGregor Tai Ji is variously understood as a Taoist art form, a martial art or, with Qi Gong, as a branch of Chinese Medicine - the Forum in its choice of speakers and workshop leaders has explored all of these. This CPD course will focus on tai ji as a Taoist art, part of a cosmic understanding reflected in Chinese painting and calligraphy, poetry, music and the Tao classics (eg I-Ching, Tao Te Ching). This course will focus on Qi (energy) and will cover: the Yin/Yang flow and counter-balance, the energies of the Five Moving Forces, and the dancing calligraphy of the character of Qi. The course is intended to deepen your understanding of Qi and the Tao in your own tai chi/qi gong practice, which in turn will add depth to your teaching - especially helping those with severely restricted physical movement. Tai Chi 4 People In A Hurry - An Introduction To Ta LuKeith GrahamSurrey And Isle Of Wight |
|
This is a 4-day course offered as single days over a four consecutive months First workshop Sat 5th June 2010 – see Taichi4living.com for full listing
Ta Lu Comprises the 13 original postures of the original Tai Chi frame as taught by the legendary 13th century Taoist monk Chang San Feng, the father of Tai Chi. Ta Lu can be practices as a slow moving meditation to relax the body and calm the mind An invigorating solo exercise for aerobic fitness As a very effective way to improve body awareness, posture and balance As a powerful two-person sparring set, which teaches how to fully, meet the energy of others without losing your own equilibrium The movements of Ta Lu take only a few hours to learn and so are ideal for those who are interested to know more about Tai Chi and would like to experience some of the benefits it can bring but who don’t have the time to learn a long sequence of movements. Those with some experience of Tai Chi will find that Ta Lu has many hidden secrets, which will profoundly enrich and deepen their existing practice. During the four, one day workshops we will also be looking at Taoist philosophy, exploring Tai Chi Mind, Tai Chi as a self-defense system and looking at posture and movement from both traditional eastern and modern, western perspectives The self defense applications of Ta Lu will be a revelation to anyone who has not experienced the gentle strength of Tai Chi. We are particularly keen to dispel the myth that all physical contact in a martial sense has to be aggressive, violent or unpleasant. We will show with the simple Ta Lu applications how hugely empowering it can be keep your centre whilst meeting the energy of another without aggression or ‘agenda’. An experience, which can transform how we meet energy of all kinds in our everyday lives.
