Jian Xiong (as Instructed By Li Lian)
Ramsey, Cambs
A series of Sunday workshops delivered bi-weekly to introduce traditional Wu-style Tai Chi as passed on within the lineage
This is based on the 81-step Traditional Wu-style long form as passed on by the late Grandmaster Wu Tu Nan. Wu-style Tai Chi is characterized by its small circle movements and in particular its emphasis on internal power (Nei Gong). Ding Shi is a method of form practice which requires the practitioner to hold each posture for 1-6 breaths to allow for accurate body alignment and Chi flow to build up. It combines the benefits of both Lian Shi (form practiced at regular speed) and Zhuang Gong (standing postures). The full-day workshop series also incorporates flexibility training, Xing Gong (footwork drills) and Zhuang Gong (standing postures). Simon Robins
Brighton
The second section of the Sam Masich 5 Section Yang Style curriculum is designed to deepen students' understanding of the martial and energetic qualities of the hand form through a choreographed 2-person form which trains movement in relation to another's body.  In this form, Side A uses the choreography of the hand form (useful for beginners) and Side B adds new counter moves.

This weekend is suitable for beginners wishing to learn faster and deeper than weekly classes usually allow, for intermediate students wishing to add depth and understanding to their movement and for those wishing to progress on to Tai Chi weapons work.  There's always a mixture of students with varying levels of experience and knowledge to play with.

Simon is an experienced practitioner and skilled teacher.  His classes are always a fun and enjoyable exploration of both the Tai Chi material and your own body dynamic.

Glossop, Derbyshire
Lian Gong Shi Ba Fa is a set of exercises developed in China by Dr. Zhuang Yuan Ming to combat modern forms of stress due to improper body posture, structuring and balancing, laying stress on joints, ligaments, tendons and connective tissue.
What sets these exercises apart from other systems is its self massage technique. It provides medicine through movement by widening from within. It has been called “massage in motion” and encompasses deep breathing, maximum stretching, wide extension to work on acupoints and meridians of the body. A combination of daoyin, tuina, wushu and Qigong techniques.
