Total Body Unification In Bagua Zhang Beginners welcome Sunday 19 May 2013 ¶
Kings Cross, London Paul Cavel detailsActivating the Kwa, Spine, Belly + Breathing:
Exercises to Develop Neigong Component 1 and the Three Leaders;
The kwa, spine and belly are called "leaders" because they drive all motion in qigong, tai chi and bagua. Breathing techniques are like glue because they bind all the layers of active neigong together. These aspects drive and unify the whole body while deepening the internal content of forms.
Paul will teach specific breathing methodology to help you supercharge blood, lymph and interstitial fluid circulation, as well as release tension and relax the body, mind and chi.
Exercises for the kwa, spine and belly will be geared towards accessing and influencing the left and right channels of energy, as well as the longitudinal ligaments of the spine in the Heaven and Earth Qigong course on the Saturday before. This material will be applied (for those who know it or attend the Saturday class) to tai chi/bagua training, where nerve release can go to a profound level by creating a boost in chi circulation. This is what enables effortless motion and smooth operation of the body, mind and chi.
You will learn the three primary areas of development for directing:
- The kwa, spine and belly as the engine;
- The breath to deeply release the nerves, mind and body;
- And unifying the breath, external form and internal content into one synergistic whole.
The synergy of the various techniques activated together is what produces the greatest results. Existing students will focus on bringing alive all three levels and then balancing them into one, dynamic, integrated whole.

Gods Playing in the Clouds Qigong The 3 Leaders Thursday 30 May 2013 - Friday 31 May 2013 ¶
7 Dials, Brighton Paul Cavel detailsActivating the Kwa, Spine + Lower Tantien for Total Body Unification:
These two evening sessions make up the second course in which Paul will teach more refined techniques for engaging the Three Leaders through Gods Playing in the Clouds Qigong, a perennial mind-body exercise system in the Water tradition of Taoism.
The Three Leaders set the tone for effortless motion, which is accompanied by exponential health benefits. Paul will teach methods for leading with the kwa, spine and lower tantien.
- Kwa training will go deep into the kwa to activate the cavities and interstitial fluid pump. For those who demonstrate some degree of embodiment when pulsing the cavities, methods for gaining control of the left and right channels of energy will also be offered. Then, at whatever level of depth you make contact in the kwa, you will train to initiate motion from that place for a deeper, more connected and fluid movement.
- Spine training with the spine will morph from activating the longitudinal ligaments to opening and closing the spine. At this level of the game, the major cavities (e.g. armpits, kwa and midriff) are "tied" into the action of the spine and the spine leads all motion.
- Lower tantien training will focus on the tricky process of engaging and activating the pulse from the lower tantien to initiate and lead all physical motion. To achieve this, the lower tantien must fuse with the body. For those with a solid background in leading from the kwa and spine, Paul will guide you through a series of exercises for developing your skill with the lower tantien.
All techniques will work your core structure to release the soft tissues, amplify fluid and chi circulation, boost immune function, increase flexibility, and generate total mind-body-chi vitality and resiliency. Instruction will include subtle refinements to work with all three leaders separately and in combination with one another, making possible dramatic transformations to your overall practice.
We will study techniques to do with the first half a dozen or so neigong components to activate and engage the Three Leaders, including:
- Twisting the soft tissues (i.e. muscles, tendons and fascia);
- Opening and closing the cavities;
- Reverse breathing (or natural breathing for those who do not embody prerequisite material);
- Moving energy through the main and secondary meridian lines;
- Gaining control of the left and right channels of energy.
- How the mind moves chi, chi moves the fluids and fluids move the body.
The higher end of the work will only be taught to those who attende the first seminar in January, or who can demonstrate an equivalent level of understanding and ability. Paul is willing to take existing students as far as they are willing and able to go.
Inquire about booking a private lesson with Paul by e-mail.
Bagua Applications on Sundays:
After this qigong seminar (on Thursday-Friday evenings), Paul will teach two bagua days on Saturday-Sunday. You may register for the entire series (Thursday-Sunday) or each seminar (qigong or bagua) individually, as you like. Learn more about the Bagua Circle Walking and Palm Change seminars by visiting .

Push Hands Saturday 1 June 2013 ¶
Reigate, Surrey Paul Brewer detailsPushing Hands is a major component of the traditional syllabus of Taijiquan, historically in preparation for self-defense. However, the " Victory in Combat" mindset can lead students astray from the Principles of Yin & Yang, promoting the erroneous belief that success through superior strength equals Taiji skill. It does not.
Greater learning possibilities exist when interaction is done with respect for all, so participants can benefit from understanding the interaction of Taiji forces. No opponent, winner or loser is required as we learn how to listen, stick, follow & yield, not just how to push.
Opportunity exists to develop new abilities, firstly to control our own balance under pressure and later, by reacting correctly (just enough in just the right time and place) to control the balance of our partner.
Adhering, sticking, following, pushing, listening, full versus empty, soft versus hard, free movement, enjoyment, self-control, retaining mental and physical composure under pressure, respect and concern for the welfare of self and others, these are some of the issues accessible with the correct practice of Push Hands.
Level: All: Novice to experienced
Fees: £20 per session - payable on the day:
Time: 10am - 1pm:pre-booking only

Bagua Circle Walking+Single Palm Change Increasing Internal Power Saturday 1 June 2013 - Sunday 2 June 2013 ¶
7 Dials, Brighton Paul Cavel detailsIn this seminar, we continue the work of creating lou shuen jin or "continuous drilling power" in the specific flavour of bagua as initiated in the last seminar. This time, we will separate out the various layers of neigong within the Single Palm Change, remove the glitches and fill in any gaps the attendees demonstrate.
Throughout this process, we will work towards achieving the classic Taoist principle, "From posture to posture, internal power remains unbroken". That is, you must layer formwork and internal neigong content in such a way as there are no breaks or slack in your practice.
Beginners: You will learn the choreography of the Single Palm Change along with a whole collection of internal content and power generation techniques that will leave you with a real taste of what bagua practice is all about.
Dedicated bagua students: For some time, we've been working towards generating depth and quality of motion in both our neigong and bagua training. Now, we return to the beginning and infuse, saturate and transform the Single Palm Change, importing all of the techniques we've developed through study of Palm Changes 1-8 over the last 16 years. Some coverage of Palms 1-8 may be demonstrated and practised, as appropriate, to refine your form and understanding of neigong and energetic principles.
For those who attend the Gods Qigong course on the preceding Thursday and Friday evenings, you will have the opportunity to work on developing your moving root in bagua--a great method for creating stability when moving at high speeds!

Inquire about booking a private lesson with Paul by emailing . Learn about invitation-only, group bagua training twice annually for advanced students in Brighton by emailing . This group was established in 1996, prerequisites apply.
Course Series:
Preceding this bagua seminar (on Saturday-Sunday), Paul will teach two evenings (Thursday and Friday) on qigong. Patrick Kelly: Master Huang's Tai Chi Sunday 2 June 2013 ¶
Wigton CA7 8PB Jean & Dave Haines detailsSenior workshops
It is said in Taiji there are no secrets, only things too small to be seen. This training method is systematic, it teaches us how to form the intention to find what to listen to, where to listen, and the timing of listening for the right thing, in the right place at the right time. Then intention and awareness are developed simultaneously, the mind is naturally focused internally, within the moment. The superficial mind becomes quieter as it is absorbed with endlessly tracking sensation, and the deeper awareness naturally grows This practice takes us from outer awareness into an ever deepening internal awareness.

Continued refinement of 5 loosening exercises and forms
Refinement of the 8 basic Fixed Pattern Push hands

Heaven + Earth Qigong Energetics Activating The Orbits Of Energy Saturday 8 June 2013 ¶
Kings Cross, London Paul Cavel detailsExercises to Develop Neigong Components 4, 8
The ultimate purpose of Heaven and Earth Qigong is to fully and completely activate the microcosmic and macrocosmic orbits. In agreement with the Tai Chi Classics, Heaven and Earth's fundamental operative is: "One part moves, all parts move".
In the previous five courses on Heaven and Earth Qigong, students will have been taken through the primary components that make up this multi-layered, two-part exercise to make contact with, activate and bring alive chi, blood and fluid circulation, while relaxing and releasing the nerves and mind of stagnant or life-diminishing energy. This seminar is all about how to blend the neigong streams you have stabilised to infuse your form with pure internal power for health, healing, achieving high-performance results or meditation pursuits.
Paul will review and refine the basic form, including all the layers previously taught, before moving onto how to dissolve within Heaven and Earth and use the etheric field to deepen health benefits. Together, dissolving and etheric field techniques provide a well-balanced and integrated internal practice that can develop your body, mind and chi for many years to come.
For those who satisfy the necessary prerequisites on the day, Paul will guide you through the interconnections and various layers of chi flow that unify into the macrocosmic and microcosmic orbits÷an absolutely sublime level of practice!
To help you achieve entry, Paul will teach specific methods for:
- Dissolving in Heaven and Earth Qigong;
- Unifying the etheric field, wei chi and deeper channels of the body into the macrocosmic and microcosmic orbits;
- Making use of the Principle of Separate and Combine, intrinsic to Heaven and Earth and all neigong training.
Experienced students will get a big-picture view of the Heaven and Earth methodology and a taste for this "healing" qigong's distinct flavour. Those who aspire to become Heaven and Earth Qigong instructors will receive a firm grounding in essential neigong content necessary for certification.
Beginners are welcome. There will be a short review of what was covered in the previous classes, including choreography of the two-part Heaven and Earth exercise. Simpler, less complex methods of doing each of the techniques described above, as well as instructions for practising to facilitate healing, will be offered.
Everyone will receive personal corrections and feedback from Paul.
Tai Chi + Bagua Applications
Classically, tai chi and bagua are learned alongside fundamental qigong training, which allows you to apply what you learn in more complex forms for the most effective training strategy. Accordingly, tai chi and bagua applications will be taught on each Sunday following every Saturday Heaven and Earth Qigong class.
Paul Cavel is a certified sports massage therapist, personal coach and senior instructor of internal arts and Taoist meditation master Bruce Frantzis. Together, dissolving and etheric field techniques provide a well-balanced and integrated internal practice that can develop your body, mind and chi for many years to come. This is the point at which tai chi and bagua truly distinguish themselves from other art forms.
For those who satisfy the necessary prerequisites on the day, Paul will guide you through the interconnections and various layers of chi flow that unify into the macrocosmic and microcosmic orbits÷an absolutely sublime level of practice!
To help you achieve entry, Paul will teach specific methods for:
- Dissolving in tai chi and bagua;
- Unifying the etheric field, wei chi and deeper channels of the body into the macrocosmic and microcosmic orbits;
- Making use of the Principle of Separate and Combine.
Experienced stylists only, please. Beginners are welcome to attend the bagua track, see website for details.
Accepting 20 students only to ensure the level is kept high, and that everyone receives Paul's personal attention. Payment reserves your place (see payment button below). You are welcome to arrive at 10:30 am to meet with friends, relax, warm up and settle in before class, or eat your lunch with us in the lounge at the 1:30 pm break.
Qigong on Saturdays: Sunday tai chi-bagua classes follow Saturday qigong classes, where in-depth internal power development techniques are explored for health, healing and meditation. These classes emphasis simple, gentle and repetitive body motions, as well as hands-on partner exercises to learn internal and energetic techniques. These classes help you directly experience what you will try to achieve in your tai chi or bagua practice on Sundays.
Paul Cavel is a certified sports massage therapist, personal coach and senior instructor of internal arts and Taoist meditation master Bruce Frantzis. Relax... and.. Breathe Friday 14 - Sunday 16 June 2013 ¶
West Sussex Paul Crawte details£85 (early bird booking)
A gentle weekend finding great ways to chill out. We'll use a short and simple Yang style form to explore Tai-Chi. Great for beginners, offering some real learning to tempt you into more regular practice; and for more experienced players a chance to learn a form you can play in your kitchen whilst the tea brews.
We'll use Qi-Gong to explore breathing and internal alignment; mindful play will let us laugh as we tune into the moment. And around the camp fire in the evening we'll enjoy some singing bowls and some chat - quite probably about nothing really important at all.
Suitable for beginners and intermediate Tai-Chi people. Self catering, with a rolling kettle, lots of fire wood for the shared fire, and plenty of biscuits.

Health Qigong Wu Qin Xi (5 Animals Play) Seminar Saturday June 22 2013 ¶
Cheam Sutton, Surrey Vicky Ahern And James Norman, Bhqa Instructors detailsWe continue to share what we have been learning with Masters Faye & Tary Yip & the British Health Qigong Association together with the Masters & Professors they invite from China when they visit each year. These routines are so developmental & enjoyable & we are seeing much improvement in health & wellbeing through our practice of these arts & as well as the progress our students are making. It is so rewarding to be given this gift of knowledge & special practice.
We were first introduced to the 5 Animals Play Health Qigong routine in Beijing in 2009 by Faye's Father, Prof Li Deyin. We took it into our hearts, have been practicing ever since & are now ready to share our experiences so have organised a One Day Seminar to be held at Cheam Priory Centre on Saturday June 22nd.
Wu Qin Xi is one of the oldest Qigong sets dating back to Hua Tuo a famous physician & around 2000 years old. This is the modern routine compiled by the CHQA who have done extensive research into the health benefits & adjusted some of the more difficult movements in order that the routine may be practiced safely & by a wider audience. It is enjoyable to practice & fun to learn. We have limited places so please register your interest asap.

Patrick Kelly: Master Huang's Tai Chi Saturday June 29 2013 ¶
Malt Kiln Ulverston Jean And Dave Haines detailsAn Introduction to this deeply internal system.
Format: 5 Loosening exercises / Short Form / Fixed Pattern Pushing Hands / Meditation

Tai Chi Camp Sunday July 14 2013 ¶
Alvechurch, Worcs. Mark Peters detailsThe day will include: Cheng Man Chings Eight Exercises For Health, Five Animal Exercises, Silk Reeling Exercises And Mindfulness.
Aspects will feed into form work to include teaching by inches - connecting the form to connect the body.
We will start the day with some gentle chi-kung; When Prof. Cheng was asked by some of his students for a chi-kung set that contained the important elements of his tai chi yet could be learnt and practiced easily this is the set he developed. Prof Cheng's animal exercises were modelled on the original Dao-Yin five animal frolics developed by Hautuo during Han Dynasty (202 B.C.E - 220 C.E.) - Tiger, Stag, Monkey, Bear and Crane (bird). The silk reeling exercise (chan si gong) is an important training method for developing body awareness and coordination. It should have stillness within it and develops the sense of the waist leading the hands 'as if reeling silk from a cocoon'.

Taoist Unification Exercises for Health Applications in Qigong, Tai Chi + Bagua Saturday 10 August 2013 ¶
Kings Cross, London Paul Cavel detailsUnifying the body and its chi is the prime directive of Taoist neigong technology, and enables the body to move beyond functioning as a bunch of disassembled parts. The process entails rooting out that which is stuck, blocked or numb, and bringing alive the body and energy. Unification takes place on many levels from the basic connections of the limbs to the spine to the fine layers of chi development that create the specific neigong weaves within the internal arts.
In this seminar, you will have the opportunity to learn and train unification exercises from two perspectives:
The yin method for qigong and tai chi; and/or
The yang method for bagua.
The exercises themselves are the same, but the quality of the content is completely different. However, you will learn various versions of unification exercises to develop critical aspects of creating integrated and coherent body motion.
The specific neigong and energetic techniques taught will improve your ability to:
- Recognise when you disconnect or are about to;
- Become present to your practice to prevent disconnections in the first place;
- Unify your body through the fascia and ligaments.
Initially, we will focus on the essential tasks of connecting the outer structure of our body as one piece, then delve inwards towards our core. Various neigong will be introduced along the way to bring alive the body and develop chi for health, martial power and meditation. These exercises improve connectivity throughout the body, fuse the mind with the body and serve as a systematic method for eradicating disconnected movement.
Beginners are welcome and will focus on the yin method of qigong exercise.
Everyone will receive personal corrections and feedback from Paul.
You are welcome to arrive at 10:30 am to meet with friends, relax, warm up and settle in before class, or eat your lunch with us in the lounge at the 1:30 pm break.
Paul Cavel is a certified sports massage therapist, personal coach and senior instructor of internal arts and Taoist meditation master Bruce Frantzis. Since 1987, Paul has studied the Energy Arts System in-depth, including qigong, tai chi, bagua zhang, Taoist beathing, qigong tui na energy healing and meditation.
In 1995, with the encouragement of his teacher, Paul began offering an integrated health, fitness and stress-management solution to exercise, relax and strengthen the body-mind-energy to help people realise their true potential. Visit our Website or blog www.CircleWalking.com

Neigong + Taoist Meditation Retreat Taoist Neigong-Sitting Meditation: Sunday 18 August 2013 - Friday 23 August 2013 ¶
Languedoc, S. France Paul Cavel detailsGods Playing in the Clouds Qigong
with Applications in Tai Chi or Bagua
Traditionally, Gods Playing in the Clouds Qigong serves as a bridge from neigong (or internal power development) training for health to Taoist meditation for stress relief and spiritual pursuits. Moving and stillness practices were often trained together as a means for opening up, releasing and letting go on ever-deeper levels. Following this tradition, the primary training in this retreat is oscillating between Gods Qigong and Taoist sitting practices.
Gods Exercises 5-6 will be used as containers to teach internal techniques, help you achieve greater depth in motion, and integrate aspects of form and content. All participants are invited to learn or review the complete six-exercise set with Energy Arts Gods Qigong Instructor Pete Jenkins. Existing Gods Qigong practitioners who demonstrate aptitude in Exercises 1-6 can also learn Exercise 7 from Paul, as well as how to apply its principles into other exercises.
Sitting practices will be used to systematically teach the primary skills required to initiate or advance your Taoist (or any other type of) meditation practice. All religions welcome.
Finally, everyone will have the opportunity to integrate what they learn in their tai chi or bagua form. Beginners who do not have a form may learn Circle Walking, bagua's primary method for developing chi and power; however, to join the tai chi group, you must be a current tai chi stylist to keep the level high.
Daily Training Schedule
Most training will take place adjacent to a sacred abbey, alongside the River Aude.
- Morning pre-practice: stretching and warm-ups (bring a blanket and/or mat)
- Morning session: Gods Qigong and Taoist sitting meditation with applications in tai chi and bagua, as relevant
- Afternoon session 1: Gods Qigong form (taught by Pete)
- Afternoon session 2: Gods Qigong and Taoist meditation with applications in tai chi and bagua, as relevant (taught by Paul)
- Evening practice: A mix of Gods Qigong, sitting meditation and tai chi or bagua applications under the evening sky
The core of this programme is the morning and afternoon sessions taught by Paul on Gods Qigong and Taoist sitting meditation. For those who prefer a lighter schedule and want plenty of chill-out time, you may attend these two daily sessions only as a "mini" retreat for a discounted fee.
Morning warm-ups and evening practices with Paul as well as afternoon form sessions with Pete are for more dedicated students, or those who want to learn Circle Walking.
Diehards will be glad to know they will receive a minimum of 24 hours instruction from Paul and five hours from Pete throughout the week with plenty of integration time between daily sessions.
All students may attend the mini retreat or full retreat, as you like.
Retreat Content
"On retreat, my goal is to teach you a complete and comprehensive set of internal exercises to practise and develop in the following months and years. I'll guide you through the process of building up and breaking down practices in layers, and show you how to apply what you learn in sitting and qigong in your tai chi and bagua forms. With a week devoted to training, we can follow traditional practice methods, such as training in nature and a mix of stillness-movement practices, that have always helped students realise the deepest, most profound results from their training." ÷Paul Cavel
This retreat is all about training along the Taoist neigong-meditation continuum. You will be led through a series of exercises to weave together stillness and movement practices, the traditional Taoist method for opening up deeper aspects of neigong and developing the primary skills required for meditation.
Movement and stillness practices complement one another in various ways. To start, neigong exercises prepare the body for meditation, while meditation completes neigong training. Presence, awareness, focus, concentration, micro postural alignments and stillness in mind and body are developed in sitting. Movement practices circulate blood and chi strongly throughout the body, releasing stress, tension and contraction, while opening the body to reveal the deeper blockages. Together, they multiply the results you can achieve in the other, and thereby generate abundant chi that can be directed towards resolution of any blockages you encounter.
Essentially, the oscillation between sitting and movement practices engages the process of making the body conscious, a fundamental principle of all Taoist training. The progression from sitting to standing to moving refines both the structure and content of your practice, builds the momentum required to stabilise any positive changes, and enables results to transfer from your practice to your daily life. It is this specific weave that allows experienced students to raise the level of their practice and dramatically increase the benefits they gain from training.
Specific aspects of training will include:
- How to develop presence, awareness, focus and concentration in sitting meditation.
- How to apply the skill you develop in sitting while practising Gods Qigong and either tai chi or bagua.
- Postural adjustments in sitting and standing, including micro-biomechanical alignments.
- How natural and reverse* breathing unifies the body.
- How the three leaders (kwa, spine and lower tantien) initiate movement.
- Outer Dissolving and the initial ice-to-water phase of meditation.
- Connecting to the energies of the earth and the environment.
* Prerequisite: You must be able to demonstrate smooth, even natural breathing to learn the reverse-breathing methodology.
Limited Availability!
Accepting 24 students only for the full retreat option to ensure everyone receives hands-on corrections and personal feedback from Paul throughout the course, as well as additional support from Pete, a Level 2 bagua and qigong instructor.
Deposit reserves your place.

Gods Playing in the Clouds Qigong The 3 Leaders Saturday 31 August 2013 - Sunday 1 September 2013 ¶
Stuttgart, Germany Paul Cavel detailsActivating the Kwa, Spine + Lower Tantien for Total Body Unification:
Paul will teach techniques and refinements for engaging the Three Leaders through Gods Playing in the Clouds Qigong, a perennial mind-body exercise system in the Water tradition of Taoism.
The Three Leaders set the tone for effortless motion, which is desired because this is the stage at which health benefits can take hold and be exponentially multiplied.
Paul will teach methods for leading with the kwa, spine and lower tantien.
- The Kwa÷training will go deep into the kwa to activate the cavities and interstitial fluid pump. For those who demonstrate some degree of embodiment when pulsing the cavities, methods for gaining control of the left and right channels of energy will also be taught. Then, at whatever level of depth you make contact in the kwa, you will learn methods for and train to initiate motion from that place for a deeper, more connected and fluid movement.
- The Spine÷training with the spine will morph from activating the longitudinal ligaments to opening and closing the spine. At this level of the game, the major cavities (e.g. armpits, kwa and midriff) are "tied" into the action of the spine and the spine leads all motion.
- The Lower Tantien÷training will focus on the tricky process of engaging and activating the pulse from the lower tantien to initiate and lead all physical motion. To achieve this, the lower tantien must fuse with the body. For those with a solid background in leading from the kwa and spine, Paul will guide you through a series of exercises for developing your skill towards leading with the lower tantien.
You will study techniques to do with the first half a dozen or so neigong components to activate and engage the Three Leaders, including:
- Twisting the soft tissues (i.e. muscles, tendons and fascia);
- Opening and closing the cavities;
- Reverse breathing (or natural breathing for those who do not embody prerequisite material);
- Moving energy through the main and secondary meridian lines;
- Gaining control of the left and right channels of energy.
- How the mind moves chi, chi moves the fluids and fluids move the body.
The higher end of the work will only be taught to those who attend the first seminar in February, or who can demonstrate an equivalent level of understanding and ability. Paul is willing to take existing students as far as they are willing and able to go.

Bagua Zhang: First, Third + Fourth Palm Beginners welcome! Saturday 7 September 2013 - Sunday 8 September 2013 ¶
Ulm, Germany Paul Cavel detailsThe choreography of the Fourth Palm Change will be learned or reviewed by everyone as the primary focus of this seminar.
As always, there will be some instruction on the Single Palm Change as the beginning of genuine bagua training, and since all and everything in the monastic tradition is ultimately folded back into Single Palm. The depth of instruction will be gauged to the ability of those present with the intention of refining, honing and improving your overall bagua practice.
Additionally, Paul will review Third Palm (only for those who already know it) to answer your questions, clean up your form and resolve any areas of confusion.
I Ching Energetics: Developing the Energy of Thunder
The Fourth Palm Change develops the Energy of Thunder, which enables the strong, sudden release of energy in order to cut, crash or break through inertia or resistance to any type of change. Thunder Palmās specialties include the ability to develop:
- A mind that can overcome obstacles;
- A body that can deliver devastating martial power.
Two levels of training will be offered to ensure all students practice to their potential, and get a good workout in body, mind and chi.
- Level 1÷ Foundational material will include instruction on stepping techniques, orientation, the Fourth Palm form and fundamental internal content.
- Level 2÷will include all foundational material plus deeper internal twisting and opening-and-closing techniques to bring alive the specific qualities of the Thunder Palm.
All practitioners will receive hands-on corrections and personal feedback from Paul.
Since Fourth Palm builds upon Third Palm, it is highly recommended (although not required) that you attend the seminar in February to get the most complete training.

Taiji 37 - Develop And Apply Taiji Forces Monday 9 September 2013 ¶
Reigate, Surrey Paul Brewer detailsTaiji 37, also called Nanpai or Southern School Taiji, is a collection of standing postures which are the techniques from which modern Taiji forms and styles have developed. Historically, Taiji was created as a martial art, but the forces used for health and healing are exactly the same.
Their function is to awaken the dantian (energy centre) and cultivate Taiji forces, primarily vibration force, spontaneous movement force & mental force. These forces are innate to everyone but mostly dormant, so many Taijiquan practitioners have not yet experienced internal movement sensations, thus do not know how to develop Taijijin.
Taiji 37 Postures are a more concentrated study than conventional Form practice, wherin participants usually move on to the next "place" too rapidly to develop internal forces. Each Posture has its own characteristic spontaneous movements, arising from correct mental attitude, concentration and posture. Different energy channels stretch and open, activating and increasing Qi circulation.
This clears negative, stale, stagnant and potentially illness causing factors (BinQi) from the body at all four levels, physical, energetic, mental and spiritual, removing blockages and regulating bodily functions. Practice can refine the movements and students can learn to guide and concentrate these forces, which can produce profound and rapid changes, leaving one cleansed, revitalised and invigorated.
It is also enjoyable to practice ;-)

Patrick Kelly: Master Huang's Tai Chi Sunday 22 September 2013 ¶
5 Loosening Exercises/ Long Form/Short Form/ Quick fist/ Fixed Pattern Pushing Hands/ Meditation
Aims:
Continued refinement of 5 loosening exercises and forms
Refinement of the 8 basic Fixed Pattern Push hands
Explore in Loosening exercises, Forms and Fixed Patterns the :
Timings of upper and lower body sequential movement
5 phase Vertical circle

Timing of the rising pressure wave
Refinement of gathering and delivery of Relaxed Elastic Force.
Workshops co- taught by both Jean and Dave so all students can work at their appropriate level.
