Sun 2nd June 2019 Bristol
INSTRUCTOR: Paul Brewer
The legendary Chinese dragon is a primordially auspicious and powerful creature, moving mysteriously and sinuously in serpentine spirals. The Nine Golden Dragon Daoyins combine meditation and powerful spiral movements to create enjoyable, invigorating exercises which focus on the spinal column, working to free the muscles, tendons and ligaments around the spine. Restoring flexibility to the spine allows re-alignment of vertebrae and discs, which can relieve backache and other conditions resulting from impaired spinal nerves or blood vessels.
The two energy channels that spiral their way around and along either side of the spine from the coccyx up into the skull (often referred to as the Kundalini channels) form a connection from the root of the body to the centre of mind. These exercises naturally remove blockages, open the channels, correct the balance between body and mind and invigorate the spirit. They also create a strong internal force which helps to open the energy channels and expel negative factors and toxins from the body.
They are also among the most effective exercises for experiencing and understanding what in Taiji is often called “silk reeling” force, as well as being enjoyable to practice, so come and try it with us.
