Instructor Insurance
The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain offers insurance to its members. Below you will find information of the various levels of cover available. Download:
Professional Liability - Malpractice with Public/Products Liability combined £5,000,000 indemnity limit
This is for instructors only and assumes acceptance of your teaching credentials by TCUGB. Legal Liability to third parties up to £5,000,000 any one claim and in the aggregate applies including cover for an instructor’s negligence (Malpractice). Injury or loss/damage to a third party’s person or property will be indemnified by this insurance subject to policy conditions and legal liability being proven. A wide policy wording written on a ‘Losses-Occurring’ basis protects the instructor without the need for additional student liability cover.
Instructor Insurance Plans
- Health Tai Chi – Provides cover as above for instructors whose work includes Taiji form, weapons, pushing hands and slow structured applications plus standard Qi Gong exercises - £70
- Health Tai Chi Plus – As above plus additional activities or therapies declared to and accepted by the insurers - £80
- Martial Tai Chi – As above plus more vigorous routines and contact work e.g. whose students train for and enter competitions, and for instructors of Xingyiquan and Baguazhang - £100
- Martial Tai Chi Plus – As Martial Tai Chi above plus additional activities or therapies declared to and accepted by the insurers. N.B. Other Martial Art Forms may be acceptable to the underwriters on referral but subject to additional terms and conditions - £120
