Tai Chi World record Attempt

Sunday 25 April 2010 at 8:16 pm The Union Promotions & Publicity Officer, Ronnie Robinson, has sent us new of this event organised by Andy Spragg.

On July 25th Re-Vitalise Tai Chi will be working with Tai Chi instructors throughout the UK to attempt to break a world record. The biggest Tai Chi lesson ever.

This record is currently held (unsurprisingly) by the Chinese. They had 33, 996 people performing Tai Chi. I believe that if the UK Tai Chi community works together we can reach 40,000! I can’t do this alone! I need about 500 Tai Chi instructors across the UK to join me. Will you help?

I am working with Breakthrough Breast Cancer to raise money for Breast Cancer research with this record attempt. Each individual taking part will be expected to contribute 1UKP for a half hour Tai Chi session with you. (Obviously, the session can carry on longer if you wish but for the record, we need to cover the 30 minute period) It doesn’t take a degree in Maths to figure out that we have the potential to raise 40,000UKP for breast cancer research.

I lost a good friend to this horrible illness last year so this charity is particularly dear to me.
This event will be fully monitored by the Guinness World Record association.
In order to register your support, can you send an email to andy.spragg@re-vitalise.co.uk with your Physical contact address (so I know where you are in the country) your email address and your phone contact details.
Please support this event and help us to crack the record and raise money for this very special cause.
Please can you let me know if you will be helping us out with this attempt?
