Core and Pelvic Floor Form, Function and Dysfunction

Event Details

Instructor: Colin Hughes

Monthly Mini-Workshops with Colin Hughes, August:

Tai Chi and Qigong provide a number of experiential access routes to improved understanding of how core stability works, and the role of the pelvic floor. In this session we will explore a number of these by experiencing how our body initiates and responds to alignment, breathing and movement, especially the continuously rippling weave of flowing motion which occurs quietly beneath our conscious awareness as we live and move. Complete beginners will be as welcome improvers and regular participants.

Beginners will see ‘mind body’ exercise, based on tai chi and qigong, from a new and relaxed perspective, and improvers will add depth to their knowledge and skill. The session will be a mix of stillness and movement, stories, science and esoteric stuff. The approach will be informal, relaxed, mindfully meditative and leisurely, including lots of rests, and an informative slide presentation.
