Whatever your style, there are fundamental elements to the nature of movement in Tai Chi.
First of all it does not matter how much or how little Tai Chi you may have done previously, these principles work on many levels from novice to expert!
We will not be going through any Tai Chi routine. And because there is much curiosity about them, here they are, the 10 Principles of Tai Chi:
1. Elevate the crown and lift the spirit
2. Contain the chest, expand the back
3. Sōng (release/loosen)
4. Harmonise the upper and lower body
5. Move from the centre
6. The body flows as one
7. Continuity without breakage
8. Internal and external coordinate
9. Understand the difference between insubstantial and substantial
10. Use the mind (Yì) and not force (Lì)
