Date: 20th – 21st October 2017
Venue: “Zhao Youbin” Taiji Quan Club, Podgorica (Montenegro)
Instructors: Frederick Behar & Lucy Gardner
This workshop will cover techniques for pushing hands with the minimum force necessary.
Working in pairs, we will explore various exercises from which key skills can be learnt, such as adapting to and following your partner, finding the most effective direction for pushing and pulling, and using ‘Dong Jing’ to understand your partner’s intentions.
Part of the workshop will be devoted to flexibility and mobility, which are both important for tai chi and push hands. We will be covering various exercises and explain the relevance of each. Regular practice of these exercises will then enhance your skills in partner-work as well as your solo tai chi form.
This workshop is open to all levels.
Fee: 80 euros

UK residents may find it useful to know that there are two Ryanair flights per week from Stansted to Podgorica (Wednesdays and Sundays). This is thus a great opportunity to combine a tai chi workshop with a short holiday. Montenegro in October is less crowded than in summer and usually the weather is still good enough for a swim in the sea. Decent private accommodation can be found for 40 euros per night or less.
