TCIA Annual Review – Building Foundations for 2026

We’ve published this year’s Annual Review, which brings together the main developments across the Union and sets out our direction for 2026. It’s been a year of steady, practical progress, with clearer communication, stronger partnerships, and important groundwork completed for the systems we’ll be introducing next year.

Our regular updates, member features, and coordinated social posts have helped raise the visibility of Tai Chi Internal Arts and made it easier for the public to find authentic instruction. Work with Saga Cruises, the London Competition, and several schools has introduced the internal arts to new audiences and strengthened our links with organisations that share our values. Training has grown through the new professional skills pilot, giving members access to accredited courses in safeguarding, GDPR, and risk assessment, and more.

The website has seen significant technical upgrades, and development of the new member area is well under way. This will gradually bring listings, resources, and event submissions into one place. The magazine continues to evolve under its refreshed editorial team, keeping the balance between lineage, research, teaching practice, and community voices.

The Review looks ahead to a year focused on growth, profile, and support. The Union is better organised than it was a year ago, and the foundation is in place for the next phase of development. As always, the pace of change depends on people and resources, and we welcome members who would like to contribute their time or expertise.

You can read the full Annual Review on our website. We hope it gives a clear picture of the work taking place on your behalf and the plans already forming for the year ahead.

From all of us at TCIA, we wish you a peaceful Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2026.
